On the travelling-column grinders of the MAXI series, the CNC unit manages the machine functionally, displays and controls all axes, with dedicated software allowing the automatic grinding cycle to be programmed (roughing, finishing, spark-out, automatic dressing) through a guided menu.

On rotary-table grinders, the spindle delivers 7.5 kW for a wheel speed of 1,450 rpm (up to 1,000-2,000 rpm as an option). On the travelling-column grinders of the MAXI series, the spindle, driven by a variable-speed motor rated 15 to 18 kW, is supported at the front by a zero-wear Mackensen three-lobe hydrodynamic bearing, guaranteeing maximum working and geometric accuracy over time, with a pair of preloaded angular contact precision ball bearings at the rear — a spindle line originally developed by Delta after several years of research and experimentation, and the strong point of the whole of the current production.
