Ficep spindle and motorized spindle repair
Brochexpress is an independent workshop specialising in the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of Ficep spindles and motorized spindles — an Italian group founded in 1930, a world leader in CNC drilling, milling and sawing lines for structural steel profile machining.
Ficep, world leader in profile machining lines for structural steel
TLDR: Ficep S.p.A. (founded in 1930, Italy) is one of the world leaders in the manufacture of CNC machine tools for steel machining and the forging industry, with automatic drilling, milling, sawing and marking lines for structural steel profiles.
Founded in 1930 by the Colombo and Giuliani families under the name « Fabbrica Italiana Cesoie e Punzonatrici », Ficep introduced as early as 1966 the first numerically controlled profile drilling installation for the structural steel market, marking the start of automation in this sector. The northern Italian family business is today one of the world leaders in the manufacture of CNC machine tools for steel machining, with automatic multi-spindle drilling lines, band sawing and drilling lines and coping lines for profiles, as well as dedicated ranges such as Valiant (three-spindle drilling), XBLADE (beam drilling, milling and sawing) and Endeavour (drilling, milling, marking).
A range of multiple drilling and milling spindles for steel profiles
TLDR: Ficep lines feature multi-spindle drilling heads, with configurations of three drilling heads each fitted with a multi-position tool changer, allowing advanced milling operations (helical milling, pocket machining, slotting) across the full range of rolled profiles.
Ficep drilling lines, such as the Valiant range, feature a three-spindle system for machining the complete range of rolled structural steel profiles, with a high-quality cast-iron spindle housing for maximum strength. The three drilling heads can be fitted with a tool changing system with 14 positions per spindle, for a total of 42 tools, with additional spindle positioning axes allowing advanced milling operations: helical milling, pocket machining, weld preparation and slotting. On XBLADE lines, a 5-axis head made up of two rotating wrists positions the tool practically anywhere in the working envelope, including on inclined planes.
Ficep spindles covered (non-exhaustive list)
- Multi-spindle drilling head spindles, cast-iron housing, Valiant range
- Spindles with multi-position tool changer (14 stations per spindle)
- 5-axis head spindles with two rotating wrists, XBLADE line
- Drilling, milling and marking line spindles, Endeavour range
- Mobile profile drill spindles, Victory and Excalibur ranges
Interfaces and specifications
The Ficep spindles we repair cover one, two or three drilling and milling head configurations depending on the line (Valiant, XBLADE, Endeavour), with high-quality cast-iron housings — interfaces and rotation speeds to be confirmed on quotation according to the exact reference of your machine.

Frequently asked questions
Do you repair the spindles of multi-spindle drilling heads (Valiant range)?
Yes, we work on each of the spindles in these configurations, with or without a multi-position tool changer.
Do you work on the 5-axis heads with two rotating wrists of the XBLADE line?
Yes, we diagnose and repair these spindles, taking into account their positioning system on inclined planes.
What is the average lead time for a full overhaul?
Allow around 20 working days in the workshop, depending on the condition of the spindle and the availability of parts (bearings, seals, specific components).
Do you work on the spindles of Victory and Excalibur mobile drills?
Yes, we diagnose and repair these spindles, dedicated to structural steel profile machining.
Do you offer a preventive maintenance contract for a fleet of Ficep machines?
Yes, we draw up preventive maintenance programmes tailored to your production pace, particularly relevant for structural steelwork shops.
