The multigrindCU 5 or 6-axis cylindrical grinder fits in anywhere thanks to an overall width of only 1.6 m, with four-pallet loading built into the machine for extended unattended production. A seven-wheel magazine, positioned under the table and driven by the C axis, brings the required wheel under the spindle for quick abrasive changes, coolant nozzles included, up to a maximum diameter of 225 mm. An 18,000 rpm spindle and a high-speed spindle are offered as options, both designed and manufactured by Haas Multigrind, with coolant nozzles fitted manually thanks to a quick-release mechanism. Fitting Fischer spindles up to 70,000 rpm opens the door wide to micro-engineering applications. For producing hobs, a specific head known as a speed multiplier allows finishing of the logarithmic relief with small wheels, without collision between the spindle quill and the hob. On CA configurations, the workpiece spindle (A axis) reaches 1,000 rpm with an ISO SK 50 taper, while the wheel spindle delivers 11 to 12 kW at 8,000 rpm.
