Manurhin spindle and motor spindle repair
Brochexpress is an independent workshop specialising in the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of Manurhin K'MX spindles and motor spindles — the historic French turning machine builder (Mulhouse, 1920), a benchmark in multi-axis sliding-headstock automatic lathes.
Manurhin K'MX, more than a century of French turning expertise
TLDR: Manurhin (Manufacture de Machines du Haut-Rhin, founded in 1920 in Mulhouse) is a historic French builder of turning machines, whose K'MX sliding-headstock lathe range, launched in 1987, grew over the decades with the Twin, Swing and XL systems, through to the current Clever, Trend and Duo models.
Incorporated in 1920 as Manufacture de Machines du Haut-Rhin, Manurhin moved its production of PF cam lathes to its Mulhouse plant in 1947, before launching the Décomat 42 in 1966, a hydraulically controlled automatic lathe programmed by card. In 1987, the K'MX system was developed and launched, with the K'MX 20 presented at EMO Milan. Further developments followed: the first K'MX Twin twin-spindle sliding-headstock lathe in 1994, then a new generation of multi-axis lathes.
A range of synchronised motor spindles with rotating guide bush
TLDR: Manurhin K'MX lathes use two motor spindles (main and back-working), typically running up to 10,000 to 12,000 rpm, together with a rotating guide bush synchronised with the main spindle, for complete machining of parts from bar up to 32 mm in diameter.
K'MX lathes in the Clever and Trend ranges are fitted as standard with two motor spindles (main and back-working) reaching a maximum speed of 10,000 to 12,000 rpm depending on the model, together with a rotating guide bush synchronised with the main spindle by pulleys and belts, for machining parts from bar up to 32 mm (or even 36 mm with modification). On Duo models, turning or milling can be carried out in parallel with two tools simultaneously.
Manurhin spindles covered (non-exhaustive list)

Yes, we work on these spindles, taking into account their synchronisation with the rotating guide bush.
Do you work on the spindles of Duo configurations (parallel turning and milling)?
Yes, we diagnose and repair these spindles, sized for milling torque of up to 32 Nm.
What is the average lead time for a full overhaul?
Allow around 20 working days in the workshop, depending on the condition of the spindle and the availability of parts (bearings, seals, specific components).
Do you work on historic K'MX lathes (Twin, Swing, XL32) still in production?
Yes, we diagnose and repair the spindles whatever the generation of the machine.
Do you offer a preventive maintenance contract for a fleet of Manurhin K'MX lathes?
