Realmeca spindle and motor spindle repair
Brochexpress is an independent workshop specialising in the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of Realmeca spindles and motor spindles — a French manufacturer from the Lorraine region, a pioneer of high-speed machining (HSC), renowned for its super-precision machining centres and multifunction machines dedicated to micromechanics, watchmaking and medical applications.
Realmeca, French pioneer of high-speed machining in micromechanics
TLDR: Realmeca (Clermont-en-Argonne, Meuse, more than 6,000 machines installed worldwide) designed France's first high-speed machining centres in 1992 and today offers a full range of lathes, HSC machining centres and super-precision multifunction machines for micromechanics.
Originally founded on the manufacture of threading lathes, Realmeca established itself from 1992 as a French pioneer of high-speed machining with the launch of the C 400 HSC. The Meuse-based manufacturer has since developed a full range of CNC lathes and turning centres, 3 to 7-axis HSC machining centres and multifunction machines fitted with high-frequency spindles, equipping the workshops of the biggest names in watchmaking, jewellery, optics, medical, micromechanics, electronics, aerospace and automotive. The rigidity of Realmeca machines relies on massive beds made of high-density composite material, whose geometries are all obtained by manual scraping after roughing with an electric scraper, a process guaranteeing low thermal drift and excellent vibration absorption.
A range of HSC and multifunction spindles for precision micromechanics
TLDR: Realmeca fits its machines with HSC milling spindles reaching 30,000 to 50,000 rpm, combined depending on the model with main and secondary turning spindles at around 6,000 rpm, for multiprocess turning-milling-grinding applications in a single operation.
The 7-axis RM3-7 super-precision multifunction centre, the flagship of the range, combines an HSC milling spindle that swivels and moves along all axes (30,000 or 50,000 rpm depending on configuration) with two turning spindles at 6,000 rpm, making it possible to carry out turning, milling and grinding from the bar in a single operation. On the RM7 range, the integrated-motor main spindle (Ø52 mm capacity, 6,000 rpm, 18.5 kW) is combined with a secondary spindle at 6,000 rpm and a swivelling milling spindle (±110°) reaching 30,000 rpm at 13.8 kW. The RV range, dedicated to super-precision HSC milling centres, is available in 3 or 5-axis versions and achieves repeatability in the region of 2 to 3 µm thanks to measuring scales with 0.1 µm resolution.
Realmeca spindles covered (non-exhaustive list)
- Swivelling HSC milling spindles, 30,000 to 50,000 rpm, RM3-7 range
- Integrated-motor main turning spindles, 6,000 rpm

Frequently asked questions
Do you repair the swivelling HSC milling spindles of RM3-7 and RM7 centres?
Yes, we work on these spindles, taking into account their swivelling system and their high rotation speeds (up to 50,000 rpm).
Do you work on the main and secondary turning spindles of multiprocess configurations?
Yes, we diagnose and repair these spindles as well as their synchronisation with the milling spindle.
What is the average lead time for a full overhaul?
Allow around 20 working days in the workshop, depending on the condition of the spindle and the availability of parts specific to these precision technologies.
Can a repair affect the submicron repeatability guaranteed by Realmeca?
Our overhaul process aims to restore the manufacturer's original tolerances, with particular care given to balancing and bearing clearances, which are essential on this type of spindle.
Do you offer a preventive maintenance contract for a fleet of Realmeca machines?
Yes, we set up preventive maintenance programmes tailored to the criticality of this equipment, particularly relevant for micromechanics, watchmaking and medical workshops.
