Röders spindle and motor spindle repair
Brochexpress is an independent workshop specialising in the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of Röders spindles and motor spindles — a German manufacturer and pioneer of high-speed machining (HSC), renowned for its ultra-precise spindles up to 90,000 rpm, dedicated to mould-making and watchmaking.
Röders, German pioneer of high-speed machining and ultra-precision
TLDR: Röders (Soltau, Germany, more than 25 years of experience exclusively dedicated to HSC) designs 3 and 5-axis high-speed machining centres renowned for their extreme precision, combining coordinate milling and grinding on a single spindle.
Founded and developed by Jürgen Röders, the manufacturer has focused exclusively on high-speed machining (HSC) for more than 25 years, with the constant aim of pushing back the limits of precision and spindle speed. Röders was one of the first manufacturers to offer, on its centres, the combination of coordinate milling and grinding on a single machine, an approach reinforced by the development of dedicated very-high-speed spindles. The manufacturer has developed several proprietary and patented technologies, including PRECITEMP® for the overall thermal optimisation of the machine and NANOTOL® for the precision of the linear guideways, making it possible to achieve the machining quality levels sought in precision mould-making as well as in high-end watchmaking.
A range of very-high-speed spindles, up to 90,000 rpm
TLDR: Röders offers several spindle families depending on the application, from conventional HSC spindles (18,000 to 42,000 rpm) to ultra-high-speed air-bearing spindles (RSA 60,000 and 90,000 rpm), with dynamic runout below 0.1 µm.
Röders spindles cover a very wide spectrum, from conventional HSC spindles running between 18,000 and 42,000 rpm (17 to 40 kW depending on the model) to ultra-precise RSA air-bearing spindles, capable of reaching 60,000 or 90,000 rpm for finishing and micro-machining. These ultra-high-speed spindles show dynamic runout below 0.1 µm and a vibration level below 0.5 mm/s across the entire speed range, with wear-free air-bearing guiding ensuring constant stability over several dozen hours of continuous machining. Some centres, such as the RXP801-Z2, integrate two distinct spindles — one for conventional milling, the other dedicated to ultra-high speed — in order to optimise each operation according to the diameter of the tool or grinding wheel used. A contactless sensor also makes it possible to detect and correct any spindle elongation in real time.
Röders spindles covered (non-exhaustive list)
- Conventional HSC spindles, 18,000 to 42,000 rpm
- Ultra-high-speed air-bearing spindles, RSA series, 60,000 and 90,000 rpm
- Twin spindles on milling/grinding twin-spindle centres
- Spindles fitted with real-time elongation compensation sensors
- Spindles dedicated to watchmaking machining and very-high-precision mould-making
Interfaces and specifications
The Röders spindles we repair come mainly with an HSK-E25 interface on the ultra-high-speed spindles, with rotation ranges from 18,000 to 90,000 rpm depending on the series and application (conventional machining, HSC, air-bearing ultra-precision).

Frequently asked questions
Do you repair the ultra-high-speed air-bearing spindles of the RSA series?
Yes, we work on these spindles, taking into account their specific precision requirements (dynamic runout below 0.1 µm) and their air-cushion guiding technology.
Do you work on twin-spindle milling/grinding centres?
Yes, we diagnose and repair both spindles of these configurations, whether the conventional spindle or the ultra-high-speed spindle.
What is the average lead time for a full overhaul?
Allow around 20 working days in the workshop, depending on the condition of the spindle and the availability of parts specific to these precision technologies.
Can a repair affect the extreme precision guaranteed by Röders?
Our overhaul process aims to restore the manufacturer's original tolerances, with particular care given to dynamic runout and balancing, which are essential on this type of spindle.
Do you offer a preventive maintenance contract for a fleet of Röders machines?
Yes, we set up preventive maintenance programmes tailored to the criticality of this equipment, particularly relevant for mould-making and watchmaking workshops.
